Medical Technologist, Lead

Overview The Lead Medical Technologist supervises laboratory sections, manages personnel scheduling, monitors quality control and preventative maintenance, updates procedure manuals, and assists in budget and equipment evaluations. Responsibilities Oversee technical activities including maintenance, QC review, troubleshooting, and specimen handling.Coordinate staff schedules, ensure adequate coverage, and prepare quality assurance data.Maintain compliance with reporting policies, inventory management, and proficiency testing.Update Procedure Manuals and ensure equipment maintenance records are current.Assist in budget planning, foster relationships with medical staff, and consult with pathologists.Educate staff on instrumentation and workflows, and perform related duties as needed. Qualifications & Skills Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology, clinical laboratory science, chemistry, or biology.At least one year of clinical laboratory training per regulations.Two years of supervisory experience.Certification from ASCP or equivalent.
