Histology Assistant Lead

Inova Central Lab is seeking a dedicated Histology Assistant Lead to join their team on a full-time night shift: Monday–Friday, 10:00 PM–6:30 AM.

Responsibilities

• Performs all clerical and computer tasks necessary to support the quality operations of the department.
• Communicates to maintain team knowledge and train/mentor other healthcare personnel in the gross room.
• Obtains and processes pathology specimens while maintaining positive specimen identification and assisting with the maintenance of laboratory equipment to ensure the quality preparation of all specimens.
• Processes, prepares, and stains cytology specimens to ensure quality results and accurate diagnosis by the Cytologist/Pathologist.
• May perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED equivalent.
• 3 years of Histology experience.
