About the Role

We are hiring an Outpatient Service Rep III to join our team at Sarasota Memorial Health Care System's outpatient sites. This role is crucial in providing excellent customer service and ensuring smooth operations in our urgent care centers.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and interact daily in a positive, professional manner, reflecting the organization's mission, vision, and values.
• Conduct professional interviews to obtain complete and accurate financial and insurance information from patients.
• Verify required authorizations and answer telephone calls, routing them to the appropriate party.
• Act as a liaison between the facility, physicians, insurance companies, and other healthcare agencies.
• Handle patient collections at the time of registration, ensuring confidentiality of patient information.
• Schedule patient appointments and procedures, verify pain management benefits, insurance coverage, and obtain authorizations for visits and special procedures.
• Assume a supervisory role in the absence of the office manager and maintain excellent customer service standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a customer service setting.
• High School Diploma, GED, or Certificate.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous college or vocational training.
• Ability to type 30-40 wpm.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and third-party payers.
• Computer literacy with Windows-based programs.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships, communicate professionally with the public, and handle difficult customers or situations.
• Skill in multitasking, prioritizing duties, and demonstrating initiative and self-direction.

Schedule

Shifts available: 8 hours, 10 hours, and 12 hours. Full-time and PRN opportunities are available. Flexibility to work at all outpatient care locations is required, with schedule location preferences considered.
