About the Role

As an Outpatient Service Rep III in our Urgent Care Center, you will be the first point of contact for patients, ensuring a positive experience while handling administrative and financial tasks with professionalism and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and conduct daily interactions in alignment with the organization’s mission, vision, and values.
• Interview patients to obtain complete and accurate financial and insurance information.
• Verify required authorizations and professionally route telephone calls to the appropriate party.
• Act as a liaison between the facility, physicians, insurance companies, and other healthcare agencies.
• Handle collections of monies from patients at the time of registration.
• Maintain strict confidentiality regarding patient information.
• Schedule patient appointments and procedures, verify insurance coverage, and obtain authorizations for visits and special procedures.
• Assume a supervisory role in the absence of the office manager.
• Excel in customer service and maintain a high level of professionalism.

Requirements

• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a customer service setting.
• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent certificate.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous college or vocational training.
• Ability to type 30-40 words per minute.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and third-party payers.
• Computer literacy with Windows-based programs.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
• Strong communication skills for interacting with the public and handling difficult customers or situations.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize duties, and demonstrate initiative and self-direction.

Schedule

• Urgent care centers are open 7 days a week, 8 AM–8 PM; evenings, weekends, and holidays are required.
• Shifts: 8-hour, 10-hour, and 12-hour options available.
• Full-time and PRN (as-needed) opportunities.
• Flexibility to work at all 7 urgent care locations is required, though schedule and location preferences will be considered.

Our 7 Urgent Care Locations: Heritage Harbour, University Parkway, St. Armands, Bee Ridge, Stickney Point, Venice, South Venice.
