HIM Specialist II

About the role

Valley View is seeking HIM Specialist II's with strong attention to detail and customer service skills to assist our Medical Records Department. This is an on-site, in-person position only, based at the Silt Office Building in Silt, CO.

Responsibilities

• Handles, organizes, and protects medical records while carrying out key medical records tasks.
• Performs departmental receptionist/secretary duties.
• Performs scanning, QA, and document indexing activities.
• Performs periodic record review activities as directed by HIM management.
• Provides routine MPI management functions.
• Provides birth certificate registration departmental coverage.
• Provides release of information services as needed.

Requirements

• Medical Secretary Certification or Health Information Management courses preferred.
• Attention to detail.
• Consistency and accuracy in routine job functions.
• Previous Health Information Experience preferred.
