HiLand Requirements Coordinator – Drive Systems (BEV / REEV)

What you’ll do

  • Coordinate all HiL activities within the drive system for BEV and REEV components, acting as the central interface between software development, function owners, calibration, testing, and systems engineering teams
  • Plan, steer, and supervise HiL test execution, ensuring test environments, configurations, software builds, and test content are available and aligned with program priorities
  • Define and align HiL test strategies for drive-system functions, covering operating strategies, diagnostics, fault reactions, degraded modes, and system-level integration behavior
  • Track HiL execution progress, manage dependencies, identify risks or bottlenecks, and drive timely resolution in collaboration with function and validation stakeholders
  • Ensure HiL activities are aligned across prototype and serial development phases, supporting integration milestones, validation reviews, and software release readiness

HiL Coordination Responsibilities

  • Plan, steer, and supervise HiL test execution, ensuring test environments, configurations, software builds, and test content are available and aligned with program priorities
  • Coordinate the HiL execution team responsible for test implementation and execution, providing clear scope, priorities, test objectives, and acceptance criteria
  • Define and align HiL test strategies for drive-system functions, covering operating strategies, diagnostics, fault reactions, degraded modes, and system-level integration behavior
  • Track HiL execution progress, manage dependencies, identify risks or bottlenecks, and drive timely resolution in collaboration with function and validation stakeholders
  • Ensure HiL activities are aligned across prototype and serial development phases, supporting integration milestones, validation reviews, and software release readiness

Requirements & Test-Case Coordination Responsibilities

  • Own and oversee drive-system requirements management, including:
  • Reviewing completeness, clarity, and consistency of functional and system requirements
  • Ensuring requirements follow defined development processes and quality standards
  • Tracking requirement maturity, changes, and status throughout development
  • Coverage, execution status, and results are monitored across HiL activities
  • Traceability is maintained between requirements, test cases, and validation outcomes
  • Assess and monitor the quality of the underlying processes for requirements and test-case management, identifying gaps, risks, or inconsistencies and driving corrective actions
  • Provide structured and transparent status reporting on HiL progress, requirements maturity, and test-case coverage to support technical and program decision making

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Support

  • Liaise closely with function development, calibration, systems architecture, and validation teams to align priorities, resolve issues, and support integration decisions
  • Support technical discussions by reviewing test results, contributing to root-cause analysis, and coordinating follow-up testing or fixes
  • Coordinate software and function readiness in support of prototype builds, validation phases, and release milestones
  • Support additional related tasks and activities required to ensure robust drive-system validation and timely delivery

Location & Travel Expectations

This role will be based out of the Scout Motors location in Novi, Michigan.

This role requires 4-5 days per week in the office, with regular in-person meetings and events.

Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the company from time to time.

What you’ll bring

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Technology, IT Systems, or Engineering Technology from an accredited college or university; preferably Electrical, Controls, or Automotive Engineering
  • 8+ years of experience in automotive concept or serial development, with prior hands-on experience in HiL test development, scripting, or execution earlier in the career
  • Strong practical understanding of HiL architectures, test implementation, automation concepts, and execution workflows, enabling effective coordination and technical judgment
  • Solid understanding of requirements engineering and test-case management, including traceability, maturity tracking, and process quality
  • Experience working within system engineering, integration, validation, and software release processes
  • Proven coordination and project-steering skills, with the ability to manage execution performed by other teams
  • Structured, quality-focused mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional and global teams
