Responsibilities

  • Bring your expertise, intuition, and leadership forward in the planning, directing, and execution of transportation projects.
  • Grow professionally with us by rising together on impactful projects with a high degree of technical complexity from the concept stage through detailed design and construction services.
  • Build a multidiscipline design team to deliver tasks within established schedules & budgets and help advance our business development strategies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning, Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Professional engineering (PE) licensure in the State of Iowa.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly to clients, agencies, and the public.
  • Demonstrated progressive experience as an engineer and a project manager in the transportation design field.
  • Bridges relationships and experience delivering projects for the Iowa Department of Transportation.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of transportation infrastructure projects.
  • Skilled in developing and delivering technical presentations to stakeholders, regulatory agencies, and/or the public.
  • Demonstrated initiative and ability to work independently as a self-starter.
  • Well-rounded technical design skills encompassing all contributing disciplines.

Qualifications

  • 15+ years of experience in transportation planning or a closely related field.
  • Experience delivering projects for the South Dakota Department of Transportation and professional licensure in South Dakota or the ability to obtain licensure.
  • Experience utilizing Bentley design software such as Open Roads Designer.
  • Experience in assisting with business development efforts.

Skills

  • Ability and interest in mentoring junior level staff.

Pay

The base salary range for this position is $115,000.00 to $150,000.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
