Highway Maintenance Worker 1 (HMW 1) or Highway Technician 1 (HT 1), Defiance County, PN 20049822

Selected candidate will be placed in the classification in which they meet minimum qualifications.

About the role

You will serve the public and work to make the roads in Ohio safer. You will attend training to obtain CDL licensure if not already a licensed CDL holder. You will perform highway maintenance activities including flagging, pothole patching, repairing guardrails, litter pickup, and mowing. You will perform snow and ice operations.

Requirements

• Formal education in arithmetic that includes addition and subtraction (HMW1) or addition, subtraction, decimals, percentages, and fractions (HT1)
• Ability to read, write, and speak common English vocabulary
• Must obtain (or already hold) a valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License with tanker endorsement without airbrake restriction
• Highway Technician 1: 3 months of training or 3 months of experience in operation of basic equipment

Pay

Starting pay: Highway Maintenance Worker 1 at $21.48/hour or Highway Technician 1 at $22.29/hour.

Schedule

Full-time, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (hours may vary).
