About the role
You will serve the public and work to make the roads in Ohio safer. You will attend training to obtain CDL licensure if not already a licensed CDL holder. You will perform highway maintenance activities including flagging, pothole patching, repairing guardrails, litter pickup, and mowing. You will also perform snow and ice operations.
Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment
- Highway Maintenance Worker 1: Formal education in arithmetic that includes addition and subtraction and in reading, writing, and speaking common English vocabulary. Must obtain a Class B Commercial Driver’s License with tanker endorsement without airbrake restriction.
- Highway Technician 1: Formal education in arithmetic that includes addition and subtraction and decimals, percentages, and fractions; ability to read, write, and speak common English vocabulary; 3 months training or 3 months experience in operation of basic equipment. Valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License with tanker endorsement without airbrake restriction. Or equivalent of minimum class qualifications for employment noted above.
Note: If involved in driving motorized snow and ice control equipment, must also have a valid commercial driver’s license.
