Highway & Bridge Estimator

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Estimator for our Highway & Bridge division. The Estimator is responsible for securing bids, reviewing plans and specifications, and building professional relationships with subcontractors and suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Navigate construction drawings and specifications.
• Develop scope of work and prepare bid tabulation sheets.
• Prepare accurate take-offs.
• Perform site visits and attend Prebid meetings.
• Prepare detailed estimates and proposals.
• Professionally communicate with owners, engineers and vendors.
• Obtain competitive pricing from material suppliers and subcontractors as required; gather interest from subcontractors and suppliers on projects by phone (primary) and email communication.
• Perform other related duties as required.

Requirements

• Strong computer skills along with proficient written/verbal communication.
• Experience with PENNDOT, MDSHA, WVDOT, DELDOT, or VDOT projects.
• Dam project experience preferred.
• Experience with HCSS HeavyBid, Bluebeam, AGTEK or similar take-off software, and Microsoft Office.
• Degree in Engineering or Construction Management, or equivalent experience.
