About the Role

Head Start Teacher - Full-time, 40 hours per week, 12 months per year. This position is responsible for planning and implementing a developmentally appropriate program for preschool children in accordance with the Head Start Performance Standards and the policies of the Highland County Community Action Organization, Inc.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum for preschool children

• Ensure a safe and healthy learning environment for children
• Participate in training and professional development opportunities
• Adhere to Head Start Performance Standards and HCCAO policies and procedures

Requirements

• Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field (Bachelor's degree preferred)
• Valid Ohio teaching license or ability to obtain one
• Experience working with preschool-aged children
• Knowledge of Head Start Performance Standards and developmentally appropriate practices
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Must pass a criminal background check and have a valid driver's license
