Position SummaryPenn Foster High School is seeking an enthusiastic full-time Math Teacher to provide academic support to our students. Teachers help students meet established learning objectives while also supporting their personal educational goals.This role involves interacting with students through phone, email, live chat, and text. The teacher will also support student learning through regular virtual office hours, student appointments, and webinars. In addition, this position works closely with other members of the high school team and colleagues across the organization on projects and initiatives that improve learning outcomes. Essential Job FunctionsProvide academic support to students via phone, email, live chat, text, office hours, and appointmentsCreate and present webinarsProvide substantive feedback on subjective examsComplete administrative tasks as needed, including composing letters, monitoring spreadsheets, and sharing documents with the teamReview program- and course-level data to determine student needs and guide outreach initiativesReview, evaluate, and suggest lesson, course, or program changes to ensure compliance with established standards, guidelines, and practicesPerform other duties commensurate with the functions and level of the position Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesRequiredBachelor’s degree or higher in MathematicsState-issued teaching certification in high school MathMinimum 2 years of experience teaching and/or tutoringAccess to reliable high-speed internetStrong computer skills and willingness to learn new systemsExcellent time management skillsExperience with online learning and instructional designStrong technical knowledge and understanding of business educationStrong understanding of how technology can support new methods of instructionExcellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with a team of teachersCompassion for students learning at a distance while managing competing prioritiesDesire to motivate students and coworkers to promote academic successStrong work ethicPreferredExperience working with at-risk studentsAbility to think quickly and communicate effectively and efficientlyEnjoys working as part of a teamPrevious experience in a fast-paced work environment or customer servicePrevious experience in a private, for-profit high school and/or postsecondary educationPrevious experience as an online instructor and/or education services manager Working Conditions & Hiring Process:U.S. Work Location Requirement: All employees must reside in and perform work within the United States. We do not support international remote work arrangements for this role.Travel Expectations: While this is a remote position, occasional travel may be required for team meetings, company events, conferences, summits, etc. Candidates must be willing and able to travel as needed.On-Camera Work Environment: We operate in a highly collaborative, remote, on-camera culture. Employees are expected to be on camera during meetings unless extenuating circumstances apply.Recorded Video Interviews: All video interviews conducted during the hiring process will be recorded to support internal hiring consistency and process improvement.Background Checks: Employment with Penn Foster Group is contingent upon successfully completing applicable pre-employment screening requirements, which may include verification of employment history, education, and criminal background, where permitted by law.Identity Verification (Form I-9): As part of our onboarding process, all hires must complete employment eligibility verification in compliance with federal law.
