About the Role
The Labor and Delivery Nurse provides direct patient care within the scope of the Registered Nurse Practice Act, utilizing therapeutic communication, maintaining a safe environment, and addressing individual nursing needs.
Responsibilities
- Employ the nursing process for patient assessment, care planning, and documentation
- Perform technical skills and ensure patient confidentiality
- Coordinate care aligned with hospital goals
- Demonstrate critical thinking and procedural adherence
Requirements
- Degree from an accredited nursing program
- At least 1 year of RN experience (preferably in Labor and Delivery)
- Current licensure in Tennessee or a Compact State
Certifications
- BLS (required)
- ACLS (within 6 months)
- NRP (within 6 months)
- AWHONN levels (within one year)
- CPI (within 6 months)
