About the Role

The Labor and Delivery Nurse provides direct patient care within the scope of the Registered Nurse Practice Act, utilizing therapeutic communication, maintaining a safe environment, and addressing individual nursing needs.

Responsibilities

  • Employ the nursing process for patient assessment, care planning, and documentation
  • Perform technical skills and ensure patient confidentiality
  • Coordinate care aligned with hospital goals
  • Demonstrate critical thinking and procedural adherence

Requirements

  • Degree from an accredited nursing program
  • At least 1 year of RN experience (preferably in Labor and Delivery)
  • Current licensure in Tennessee or a Compact State

Certifications

  • BLS (required)
  • ACLS (within 6 months)
  • NRP (within 6 months)
  • AWHONN levels (within one year)
  • CPI (within 6 months)
