About the role
Provides direct patient care in a high-risk cardiology unit, managing complex cardiac conditions such as CAD, HTN, arrhythmias, heart failure, and post-procedure care. Collaborates with a multidisciplinary team including Hospitalist Attendings and cardiology specialists to ensure comprehensive care.
Responsibilities
- Assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care according to nursing standards.
- Develop and document individualized care plans, coordinating across care settings.
- Educate patients and families on managing illnesses, medication administration, and post-treatment needs.
- Promote patient safety, quality improvement, and regulatory compliance.
- Utilize critical nursing skills to evaluate physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs, respecting patient preferences and cultural considerations.
Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (Bachelors preferred).
- Active RN license; no supervisory experience required.
- Certifications in BLS, ACLS, and extensive EKG training preferred.
- Ability to work in a safety-sensitive environment with alertness and focus.
- Less than 2 years of experience preferred for Bachelor’s degree holders; entry-level candidates eligible.
