Herdsman (KH-11374)

Responsibilities

• Supervise employees
• Monitor herd health and reproductive performance
• Manage breeding programs
• Oversight cattle movements
• Maintain accurate herd records
• Work closely with management, veterinarians, and nutritionists
• Monitor fresh and hospital cows
• Cook hoof trimming schedules
• Ensure established protocols and animal welfare standards are followed

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of dairy herd management experience on a large commercial dairy
• Strong leadership and employee management skills
• Experience with herd health, reproduction, and breeding programs
• Working knowledge of DairyComp 305 or similar herd management software
• Ability to communicate effectively with Spanish-speaking employees
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
