Job Summary
As our Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Surgery Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant, you will help oncology patients undergoing hepatobiliary and pancreatic surgical procedures receive expert clinical care, seamless management, and compassionate support so they can achieve optimal surgical outcomes. In this role, you will deliver comprehensive care to oncology patients within the Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Surgery service, spanning both inpatient and outpatient settings.
Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive care to oncology patients within the Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Surgery service, spanning both inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Perform new and established patient evaluations.
- Review pretreatment teaching.
- Recommend therapeutic interventions.
- Counsel patients and families.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for patient care management, collaborating closely with attending surgeons.
- Assume clinical responsibility for tasks performed within Nurse Practitioner's scope of practice.
- Collaborate with the physician/medical director to assume clinical responsibility for tasks performed within Nurse Practitioner's scope of practice.
- Work in collaboration with the attending surgeon.
- Work to be performed in both outpatient and inpatient settings.
- Primary point of contact and assumes responsibilities for managing the care for patients.
Required Job Requirements
- NP or PA Master's Degree from accredited program.
- Active or eligible license in the state of Arizona.
- Hold and maintain national certification in NP/PA area, under AZ regulations.
- American Heart Association BCLS.
- Three years clinical experience.
