About the role
The Divisions of Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Surgery, Metabolic and Abdominal Wall Reconstructive Surgery, Breast and Melanoma surgical oncology, and Endocrine Surgery are seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to work as part of a collaborative team of surgeon consultants, fellows, residents, nurses, and other staff.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients including: ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, diagnosing, prescribing of pharmacologic agents, treatments and non-pharmacologic therapies.
- Provide 24/7 hospital coverage managing the inpatient care of adult surgical patients undergoing complex liver, pancreas, gastric, abdominal wall reconstruction, endocrine, bariatric and breast procedures.
- Collaborate with surgeon consultants, fellows, residents, nurses, and other staff to provide care across a diverse patient population.
Qualifications
- Masters prepared graduate of an accredited school of nursing and nurse practitioner program.
- Current Minnesota RN license and certification, or eligible to be certified, as an ANP, ACNP, or FNP.
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program with current PA certification by the NCCPA and registration as a PA by the Minnesota State Board of Medical Practice.
- The NP/PA must be eligible for DEA registration.
