Hematologist/Oncologist - Locum Tenens Coverage

About the Role

The physician will provide outpatient hematology and oncology care, overseeing diagnosis, staging, treatment, and symptom management for adult patients. The role involves managing a variable caseload and collaborating with a support team consisting of an RN, MAs, clerks, and a billing specialist. The position emphasizes delivering coordinated outpatient care in a hospital setting with a focus on comprehensive treatment modalities.

Responsibilities

• Provide adult outpatient hematology and oncology services
• Supervise and perform all on-site infusion treatments, including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, blood transfusions, hormone therapy, antibiotics, rheumatoid arthritis injections, and therapeutic phlebotomies
• Manage a variable patient caseload and treatment types
• Collaborate with clinical support staff for efficient care delivery
• Participate in remote call coverage when the clinic is closed

Requirements

• Medical license (no board certification required)
• Experience in outpatient hematology/oncology care preferred
• Ability to oversee infusion services and collaborate with support staff
• Comfort with managing adult patient treatments in a clinical setting
