Hematologist/Oncologist - Locum Tenens Coverage

About the Role

A licensed MD specializing in hematology and oncology provides inpatient and outpatient care in a large hospital setting, managing a clinical case mix of 60% hematology and 40% oncology. The role involves coordinating care using the Epic EMR system and participating in call rotations (1:3 ratio), covering evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive hematology and oncology services
• Perform chemotherapy administration
• Support adult and geriatric patients
• Collaborate with a team of physicians, APPs, and a radiation oncologist
• Maintain clinical documentation
• Manage outpatient load of 15-16 patients per day (PPD)
• Manage inpatient load of 1-5 PPD
• Support treatment planning across inpatient and outpatient settings

Requirements

• Board certification in hematology/oncology
• Proficiency with EMR documentation (Epic)
• Ability to handle diverse clinical cases
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
