Hematologist-Oncologist
The William E. Kahlert Regional Cancer Center at Carroll Hospital is a fully accredited program by the Commission on Cancer and is located in Westminster, MD.
About the role
We have a full-time opportunity for a Medical Oncologist/Hematologist to join our well-established team. In addition to daily clinical responsibilities, the physician will partner with the team to guide processes that achieve improvement in the quality of patient care through evidence-based clinical practices and promote an integrative oncology model of care.
Provides professional outpatient oncology/hematology services to patients in the Cancer Center and on-call consultation services to inpatients at Carroll Hospital. This position is supported by a robust, multi-disciplinary team including oncology nurse navigators, social worker, oncology dietitian, genetic counselor, financial counselors, onsite radiation oncology, and palliative care/hospice services.
The Cancer Center offers an onsite infusion center, oncology pharmacy, and research team.
Responsibilities
- Provide outpatient oncology/hematology services
- Provide on-call consultation services to inpatients at Carroll Hospital
- Guide processes to improve quality of patient care through evidence-based clinical practices
- Promote an integrative oncology model of care
- Participate in clinical trials and clinical research
- Engage in cancer conferences, staff education, and continuing medical education efforts
Requirements
- MD or DO from an accredited medical school
- Completion of an accredited internal medicine residency
- Completion of an accredited hematology/oncology fellowship
- Possess (or able to obtain) an unrestricted Maryland medical license
- Board certified or board eligible in hematology/oncology
Qualifications
- 5 or more years of experience preferred
- Prior leadership experience a plus
- Demonstrated interest in clinical trials participation and clinical research
