Help Desk Technician - IT Service Center

About the Role

The Clerk's IT department is seeking a well-organized, detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment to join their team as a Help Desk Technician. This role provides desktop support for computer hardware and software issues across the entire organization. A pre-employment drug screen and physical examination are required prior to employment.

Responsibilities

• Responds to staff and customer requests for desktop support concerning hardware and software issues.
• Installs and configures new hardware, software, and upgrades on stand-alone and online systems to support business processes and operations.
• Provides instruction to end users on maintenance and use of applications and hardware.
• Analyzes, troubleshoots, and repairs computer problems related to hardware, software, and network anomalies; coordinates repairs efficiently to minimize disruption.
• Resolves hardware and software issues through telephone contact, remote PC administration software, or on-site visits as required.
• Coordinates installation of office systems products and manages external service providers for repair and replacement of systems, components, and peripherals.
• Makes site visits to branch and other locations to provide computer support; drives a vehicle to remote locations to deliver, pick up, install, or troubleshoot equipment.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree in Information Technology or related field and three (3) years of recent and relevant experience required.
• Additional experience may substitute for education on the following basis:
  • Four (4) additional years of experience in lieu of a bachelor’s degree.
  • Two (2) additional years of experience in lieu of an associate degree.
  • In lieu of an associate’s degree, two (2) years of direct work experience and one (1) year of supplemental work experience will be required.

Physical Requirements

• Tasks involve light physical effort, including lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling objects and materials of light weight (5-10 pounds).
• Tasks may require extended periods at a keyboard or workstation.
