About the role

The Help Desk/Mobile Device Technician supports US Army North at Fort Sam Houston, San Antonio, TX. This high-visibility role ensures communications capabilities for approximately 900 users operating 1,000 wireless devices (smartphones, tablets, etc.) and provides telephonic support to 300 forward-stationed users across the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Provide dedicated service to mobile users by initiating, onboarding, and managing wireless devices under the Department of Defense (DoD) Mobility Unclassified Capability (DMUC) program for approximately 1,000 devices.
  • Handle smartphone and tablet onboarding, including identity and encryption certificate management under the PureBred program or its follow-on.
  • Safeguard mobile devices in contractor possession and register/maintain accounts on wireless vendor, equipment provider, and government Enterprise Portals (e.g., Apple Business Manager, DISA Storefront).
  • Configure devices with correct wireless vendor services, DMUC access, and the Purebred app within 5 working days of request.
  • Contact users for device pickup, issue devices, and ensure users sign accountability and terms of use documentation, submitting it to the government within 2 working days.
  • Provide informal user training, including accessing DMUC and Purebred, and assist with troubleshooting or restoring non-functional devices.
  • Adjust device service features via the wireless vendor’s Portal within 2 working days of user request and COR concurrence.
  • Maintain accurate device details (number, service features, ICCID, username, user location) on wireless vendor and government portals.
  • Decommission devices on appropriate government and commercial portals, including DSF, DMUC, and ABM.
  • Assist users with configuration and management of government Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) solutions for personal mobile devices.
  • Manage wireless devices under the DoD Mobility Classified Capability-Secret (DMCC-S) program for smartphones or tablets.
  • Support surge requirements 24/7 during key exercises or real-world events.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of experience with Mobile Device Management.
  • Active Secret clearance.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II certification.
