Heavy Equipment Work Activity Coordinator Lead

About the role

Serve as SME for crane, equipment, and rigging tasks.
Act as maintenance focal point for plant partners – coordinates Diamond and Contractor trades.
Review job packages and prepare to do the task.
Assist in allocation of resources for resource leveraging.
Initiate the work permit procedure, as necessary.
Report on the progress of the daily work to enable adjustments to the work schedule when needed.
Review work status with service providers and originators and adjust schedule as required.
Reassign person scheduled to perform work to the next job, in the event the equipment is not prepared for maintenance on originally assigned job.
Confirm that all scheduled job sequences, work and paperwork for the job have all been completed.
Close work order.
Perform the role of shift procedure use focal point for maintenance activity.
Review completed job packets and quality form; ensure non-conformances are used where required.
Coach tradespersons when completed procedures/checklists/equipment repair forms are not filled out correctly.
Conduct field audits to ensure procedures are being used according to the local Maintenance Procedure Use Policy.
Deliver 100% Maintenance Compliance Task Completion and perform shop audits.

Requirements

• A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• 4+ years of relevant experience.
• NCCCO or NCCER certification or currently pursuing certifications.
• Ability to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed and the ability to work according to the necessary schedule to meet job requirements with or without reasonable accommodation is an essential function of this position.
• Must possess a TWIC card or be eligible to obtain a TWIC card.
• The ability to work legally in the United States is a requirement for this U.S. based position.

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on experience operating cranes in industrial or construction environments.
• Operations or Skilled Trades experience.
• CDLLift Director experience.
• SAP experience.
• Maintenance and/or Activity planning and coordination experience.
• Demonstrated supervision/influential leadership skills within work groups.

Physical Demands

• Willing and able to meet physical demands of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation: Wear safety equipment, such as earplugs, goggles, respirators and steel-toed shoes.
• Perform frequent bending, reaching, and lifting.
• Work in tight or closed-in spaces.
• Climb stairs/ladders and work high off the ground.
• Stand or walk for extended periods of time.
• Lift a maximum of 50 lbs.

• Communication: Effectively exchanges critical information with team members, signal persons, and supervisors to ensure safe and coordinated crane and rigging operations.
• Decision Making: Applies sound judgment to assess lift conditions, equipment status, and environmental risks, making timely decisions that prioritize safety and operational efficiency.
• Proactive Problem Solving: Anticipates potential operational or safety issues (e.g., unstable loads, equipment limitations, hazardous conditions) and takes early action to mitigate risk.
• Work Coordination: Effectively organizes and aligns activities between crane operators, riggers, signal persons, and other crew members to ensure lifts are executed safely and efficiently.
• Rigging: Applies technical knowledge and skill to safely select, inspect, and use rigging equipment (e.g., slings, shackles, hooks) to attach and control loads during lifting operations.
