Peckham Industries Inc. (PII) is a family-run business since 1924, providing construction materials, products, and services in the communities they serve. The Heavy Equipment Mechanic position is a union position affiliated with Local 158.
Responsibilities
1. Focus on safety and align with the company's vision and objectives.
2. Maintain a safe, clean, and organized shop and work environment.
3. Ensure compliance with FMCSA fleet maintenance regulations and company standards.
4. Coordinate with Plant Managers and operations teams to prioritize equipment repairs and maintenance.
5. Manage procurement of parts, vendor services, and repair resources.
6. Maintain appropriate inventory levels of wear parts, lubricants, and maintenance supplies.
7. Perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on company vehicles and equipment.
8. Utilize diagnostic software and tools to troubleshoot and repair various systems.
9. Track and code maintenance costs accurately.
10. Contribute to annual budgeting, capital expenditure planning, and cost-saving initiatives.
11. Oversee facility and building maintenance.
12. Support plant operations and production teams with equipment or facility repairs.
Requirements, Education and Experience
1. High school diploma or GED.
2. Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in heavy equipment mechanics or similar field.
