Heavy Equipment Instructor

About the Role

This position involves developing and delivering training for heavy equipment operators in construction, quarry, and mining industries. The focus is on safe and effective equipment operation, grade control systems, and operator development for production and construction projects.

Responsibilities

• Conduct classroom and hands-on training for equipment such as dozers, excavators, graders, loaders, and haul trucks.
• Monitor and evaluate training effectiveness through metrics.
• Maintain training resources and collaborate with stakeholders to identify training needs.
• Maintain training center equipment and assist with its operations, including occasional weekend and evening work.

Requirements

• Minimum 4 years of operator experience in related industries.
• Knowledge of grading, excavation, and GPS machine control systems (preferably Trimble).
• Understanding of construction processes.
• Strong organizational, project management, and relationship skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to travel up to 50%, with flexibility for occasional after-hours work.
• Self-motivated with a drive to learn and improve.
