Heavy Equipment Hauler/Lowboy Truck Driver

Responsibilities

• Load Securing: Drive heavy machinery onto low-deck trailers and secure them using heavy-duty chains and binders.
• Route & Permit Management: Plan and navigate routes to avoid low-clearance bridges, restricted roads, and weight limit bridges, often requiring oversized-load permits.
• Compliance: Adhere to DOT hours-of-service laws, maintain vehicle logs, and conduct pre- and post-trip inspections of brakes, tires, and lights.

Requirements

• Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a current Medical Card.
• High school diploma or GED.
• 2-5 years of specialized experience in heavy haul.

Qualifications

• Physical strength to endure all weather conditions, handle constant bumps/jolts from machinery, and perform demanding physical labor.
• Excellent hand, eye, and foot coordination for operating multiple pedals, levers, and computerized controls simultaneously.

Skills

• Expertise in load securing and route management for oversized loads.
• Strong adherence to DOT regulations and safety standards.
• Ability to coordinate complex tasks under pressure.
