Heavy Equipment Truck Driver

Duties And Responsibilities

• Operate a heavy-duty tractor and trailer during normal working hours.
• Pick up and deliver products across all departments within RW.
• Follow directions from the Sr. Logistics Manager or designated dispatcher.
• Adhere to daily transportation schedules.
• Comply with DOT requirements, including maintaining a driver's logbook and undergoing random drug testing.
• Obtain customer signatures on product receipts for pickup or delivery.
• Document damage and equipment condition upon receipt or delivery.
• Update training and skills continuously.
• Complete paperwork accurately and promptly.
• Maintain a clean and orderly vehicle.
• Represent the company professionally at all times.
• Maintain an acceptable driving record as per Raymond Handling Solutions, Inc.'s insurance carrier.
• Report all accidents immediately.
• Coordinate with supervisors for overtime and additional responsibilities.
• Drive safely, especially with tall equipment requiring permits and double-check traffic routes.
• Be willing to travel out of town as needed.
• Perform other duties and projects as assigned by the Department Manager/Supervisor.

Required Skills/Abilities

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and similar software.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Ability to maintain positive relationships with colleagues and managers.
• Willingness to work off-hours and assume additional responsibilities.
• Knowledge of safety procedures and good judgment in safety matters.

Education/Experience

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum of 2 years driving experience with heavy equipment.
• Valid Class A California driver's license with no more than the allowable level of points on record.

Physical Requirements

• Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts.
• Frequent lifting and moving up to 50 pounds.
• Occasional climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and exposure to outside weather conditions.
• Exposure to wet and/or humid conditions, high, precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme cold, extreme heat, and vibration.
• Frequent exposure to outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock.
• Occasional exposure to noise levels in the work environment.

Pay Range

The hourly range for this position is $28.00 - $42.00. The specific pay offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate's relevant experience, education, and work location. Qualified candidates must be able to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen.
