Heavy Duty Diesel - Service Technician

Responsibilities

• Servicing John Deere equipment and other merchandise offered for sale by the dealership.
• Performing basic and complex diagnostics independently and solving basic and complex technical issues.
• Performing pre-delivery inspection on all types of equipment and other merchandise offered for sale by the dealership.
• Operating and maintaining vehicles, tools, and equipment required in the set-up and delivery process.
• Following all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments.
• Completing all reports and forms required in conjunction with job assignments.
• Accounting for all time and materials used in performing assigned duties.
• Participating in Service Education Training programs is required for the development of skills and knowledge.
• Maintaining a clean work area and performing work in a neat and orderly fashion.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• 4-7 years of experience performing service repairs.
• Sound knowledge of engines, hydraulics, power-trans, air-conditioning, and electrical systems as they apply to machines marketed by the Dealership.
• Supplied with own tools and toolbox.
• Ability to operate vehicles, tools, and equipment used in machinery pre-delivery and set-up processes.
• Ability to assemble machinery components and to follow the manufacturer’s pre-delivery instructions.
• Ability to use Service Advisor and basic computer functions.
• Ability to maintain labor performance and billable hours according to Service Leaders.
• Knowledge of John Deere and competitive equipment, a plus.

Qualifications

• Lifting up to 75 pounds, on occasion.
• Lifting, pushing, and pulling 50 pounds repeatedly.
• Repetitive hand use up to 7 hours a day.
• Walking or standing up to 7 hours a day.
• Sitting up to 4 hours a day.
• Squatting/kneeling up to 3 hours a day.
• Computer/keyboard work up to 2 hours a day.

Skills and Knowledge

• Knowledge of John Deere and competitive equipment, a plus.

Pay

Pay Range: Hourly rate: $33.00 - $40.00 per hour, based on experience. Monthly bonuses: Potential to earn monthly bonuses through our Technician Incentive Plan! Bonus amounts are calculated based on billed hours, efficiency, and productivity.

Schedule

Monday through Friday 40 hours per week plus overtime. Day schedule (7:30 am start times, or earlier depending on demand).
