Heavy Duty Diesel Technician
About the Role
Heavy-Duty Diesel Technicians are responsible for accurately troubleshooting, repairing, and diagnosing both routine maintenance and emergency services while making repair recommendations to customers. This position will work with other technicians to ensure all work scheduled is performed safely and to the customer’s satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Diagnosing failures of equipment including disassembling, repairing, and reassembling parts as needed.
- Performing preventive maintenance such as changing oil, checking batteries, and lubricating equipment and machinery.
- Repairing diesel trucks, including (but not limited to) repairing engines, alignments, suspension, hydraulics, transmissions, and electrical systems.
- Inspecting vital parts to ensure that our customers are in proper operating conditions.
Requirements
- 5+ years’ experience servicing tractor/heavy equipment and medium to heavy-duty diesel trucks.
- Strong working knowledge of EGR/emissions control systems, foundation, air, and ABS brake systems, DC electrical systems.
- Working experience with Freightliners/Detroit Engines, chassis, drivelines, hubs, wheel seals, and air conditioning systems.
- Computer and software skills including Microsoft Office Suite.
