Rogue Disposal is looking for an experienced and reliable Diesel Mechanic to join our team in White City, OR, just outside Medford. This is a great opportunity for mechanics seeking steady, long-term employment.
Schedule
Monday – Friday
- Monday–Thursday: 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM
- Friday: 12:00 PM – 8:30 PM
Pay
Starting pay is $29-$31/hr DOE. Guaranteed Overtime: Time and a half after 40 hours a week.

Responsibilities
- Inspects and repairs vehicles with diesel engines
- Handles routine repairs, including oil and tire changes along with minor and major repairs from A/C, hydraulics, electrical, welding, engine replacement, transmissions, etc.
- Interprets diagnostic test results accurately
- Writes detailed inspection reports and repair plans in our system
- Collaborates with other diesel mechanics
- Completes test drives to make sure the vehicle runs correctly
- Uses power, machine, and hand tools safely
- Communicate with drivers for issues in morning and afternoon
- Reviews, completes or assigns repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports
- Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards
- Follows all Waste Connections repair shop regulations and standards
Requirements
- Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record (Required)
- Experience in heavy truck equipment maintenance and repair
- Provide personal tools
- Class B CDL OR the ability to obtain one within 90 days of employment if required
- Proficiency in vehicle and equipment diagnosis and repair
- Ability to read and comprehend service and technical information in English
Working Conditions And Physical Effort
- Extensive physical activity. Requires strenuous physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects over 50 pounds
- Back, leg, arm and shoulder strength required to safely climb in, on and around vehicles to inspect and repair
- Ability to work in awkward, tight, or restricted spaces for extended periods of time; Requires the ability to sit, bend, stoop, crouch, kneel, crawl, and be able to get up and down from a supine position
- Work environment involves some exposure to physical risks such as moving mechanical parts which require following basic safety precautions
- The employee is exposed to outside weather, including frequent wet and/or humid conditions, as well as exposure to fumes and vibration. Noise level is usually moderate
