Heat Treat Technician - Kansas City, MO

Responsibilities

• Set up of Pre-Heat and Stress Relief equipment
• Ability to perform machining work is a plus
• Must be available for call out jobs
• Adhere to Acuren and Client Safety Policy and Procedures
• Promote a positive safety culture
• Complete JHA’s
• Communicate effectively with Project Manager, QC Manager, and Supervisor
• Maintain morale and professional presentation
• Produce charts, Heat Treat reports, Hardness Testing reports to submit to QC

Requirements

• Working knowledge of heat treatment processes (annealing, normalizing, quenching, tempering) and metallurgical principles affecting material properties
• Ability to set up, operate, and monitor furnaces, ovens, and quenching systems in accordance with process specifications
• Skill in interpreting work orders, technical instructions, and temperature/time parameters to ensure compliance with requirements
• Proficiency in performing hardness testing and basic microstructure evaluations to verify metallurgical and dimensional standards
• Ability to troubleshoot process deviations, identify equipment irregularities, and implement corrective actions
• Strong documentation skills to accurately record heat treat cycles, inspection results, and process data
• Knowledge of safety protocols and ability to work independently with limited supervision while supporting and training junior technicians

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 2+ years of experience in Heat Treat field
