Responsibilities
- Set up of Pre-Heat and Stress Relief equipment
- Ability to perform machining work is a plus
- Must be available for call out jobs
- Adhere to Acuren and Client Safety Policy and Procedures
- Promote a positive safety culture
- Complete JHA’s
- Communicate effectively with Project Manager, QC Manager, and Supervisor
- Maintain morale and professional presentation
- Produce charts, Heat Treat reports, Hardness Testing reports to submit to QC
Requirements
- Working knowledge of heat treatment processes (annealing, normalizing, quenching, tempering) and metallurgical principles affecting material properties
- Ability to set up, operate, and monitor furnaces, ovens, and quenching systems in accordance with process specifications
- Skill in interpreting work orders, technical instructions, and temperature/time parameters to ensure compliance with requirements
- Proficiency in performing hardness testing and basic microstructure evaluations to verify metallurgical and dimensional standards
- Ability to troubleshoot process deviations, identify equipment irregularities, and implement corrective actions
- Strong documentation skills to accurately record heat treat cycles, inspection results, and process data
- Knowledge of safety protocols and ability to work independently with limited supervision while supporting and training junior technicians
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 2+ years of experience in Heat Treat field
