Healthy Families Family Resource Specialist (170)

About the role

The Healthy Families Family Resource Specialist manages referrals to the Healthy Families program, conducts screenings, and initiates assessments for families. They also promote the program, maintain documentation, and ensure accreditation.

Responsibilities

• Attempts contact with all referrals within 24 to 48 hours and contacts families a minimum of 2 times a month during the first trimester and second trimester and until the family is assessed.
• Contacts families a minimum of 1 time per week during the third trimester and until the family is assessed, and a minimum of 2 times per week once the infant is born and until the family is assessed.
• Maintains quality and positive relationships with referring organizations and follows up on every referral.
• Promotes the program at formal community venues and attends Community Advisory Boards.
• Maintains documentation of services, quality measurement tools, and tracking forms in accordance with the Healthy Families America model.
• Completes required supervision, trainings, and maintains the Infant Mental Health Endorsement.
• Takes an active role in ensuring the McNabb Center completes and maintains Healthy Families America Accreditation.

Qualifications

• One-year experience providing evidence-based home visiting services preferred.
• Experience working with young children and families required.
• Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related field preferred.
• Lived experience required if not Bachelor's Qualified.
• The Association of Infant Mental Health in Tennessee (AIMHITN) Infant Mental Health Endorsement preferred.
• Required to apply for AIMHITN Infant Mental Health Endorsement within the first year of employment if hired without endorsement.
• Training and knowledge in infant and early child development and parenting skills required.
• To perform this job successfully, an individual must have excellent communication skills with colleagues and clients.

• Must be able to work with diverse populations in culturally sensitive ways.
• Must have an F endorsement and be able to drive for work-related duties.
• Must be able to utilize a dependable vehicle for home visitation services.
• Certification and training in verbal de-escalation strategies required.

Compensation

The starting salary for this position is approximately $17.21 - $18.29 /hr based on relevant experience and education.
