Healthcare Tech - Progressive Care Unit

Role Overview Under RN supervision, the Health Care Technician (HCT) provides support to nursing staff by assisting with patient personal care, hygiene, and activities of daily living. They facilitate communication among departments, visitors, staff, and patients, serving as a unit public relations liaison. The HCT ensures smooth unit operations by maintaining supplies, cleaning equipment, and assisting with documentation of patient data. They demonstrate competency in vital signs, blood glucose monitoring, and intake/output recording. The role includes preparing patients for transport, updating white boards, performing hourly rounding, and floating across hospital units as needed. They may serve as a sitter for patients requiring supervision and participate actively in team efforts to deliver high-quality care.
