Healthcare Tech - Progressive Care Unit

The Health Care Technician (HCT) supports licensed nursing staff by providing personal care and hygiene assistance to patients. Under supervision, they facilitate communication with departments, visitors, and staff, and act as a public relations liaison for the unit. Key responsibilities include assisting with unit supply maintenance such as stocking and cleaning equipment,collecting and documenting patient data accurately,demonstrating skills like vital signs measurement, blood glucose monitoring, and intake/output recording,helping patients with activities of daily living,preparing patients for transport, and performing hourly rounding and communication updates. They may also float within the hospital to perform duties as neededserve as a sitter if required, andparticipate in team efforts to improve care quality. Qualifications include certification in Basic Life Support (BLS)a H.S. diploma or GEDrelevant medical or military trainingcompletion of CNA coursework or certificationand clinical nursing experience. Skills required involve competency in psychomotor skills, communication, and teamwork.
