An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Department of Haematology/Oncology for a highly organised individual to join our multidisciplinary team. The successful applicant will be based in the oncology unit within outpatient settings, predominantly within the Chemotherapy/SACT outpatient settings but will be required to vary their workplace within the Haematology/Oncology Clinic setting as needed.
About the role
The successful candidate will provide a high-quality, safe, and supportive environment for patients, carers, and relatives within the oncology unit. You will work closely with the Senior Nursing and Medical team as part of a multidisciplinary approach.
Responsibilities
- Manage SACT treatment referrals and appointments
- Order supplies and ensure efficient patient flow through the department
- Answer phones and handle public inquiries on a daily basis
- Perform phlebotomy tasks
- Carry out general administrative tasks
- Provide routine individual care duties for patients, clients, carers, and relatives when required
Requirements
- Excellent communication skills
- Compliance with the Code of Conduct for Healthcare Support Workers in Scotland
- Knowledge of computer and referral systems used within NHS Scotland is beneficial but not essential (training will be provided)
Schedule
18.75 hours per week
