About the role

Trefynwy Ward is a 19-bed GP-led rehabilitation unit, caring for patients with a range of needs and supporting them in their rehabilitation journey. The role involves working 12-hour day and night shifts, including weekends and bank holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality care and support to patients and their families.
  • Support the delivery of excellent nursing care in a welcoming and supportive environment.
  • Work collaboratively with the nursing team to ensure patient safety and quality of care.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Adapt to changing circumstances and provide flexible support as needed.
  • Contribute to continuous service improvement by participating in staff meetings and training sessions.

Requirements

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Basic computer literacy.
  • Positive team player with adaptability to change.
  • Commitment to supporting colleagues and contributing to continuous service improvement.

Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 2 qualification is desirable but not essential.

Pay

The salary scale for a Band 3 has been adjusted as part of the NHS Agenda for Change pay award for 2026/2027 and will be implemented in August 2026 backdated to 01 April 2026 where applicable.

Schedule

The role is under review within the Health Board as part of a national review and may, in future, progress to Band 3 with an updated job description. If appointed, your manager will ensure you are kept informed and will support you through any changes, including discussing relevant training requirements.
