About the role

Serve as a vital first responder to injuries and illnesses during emergencies and on the battlefield as a Health Care Specialist in the Army National Guard.

Responsibilities

• Administer emergency medical treatment to casualties
• Provide outpatient and inpatient care and treatment
• Train Soldiers in Combat Lifesaver and First Responder courses
• Manage medical readiness, supplies, and equipment

Skills

• Patient care techniques, advanced medical care, and plaster casting
• Effective communication and handling stressful situations
• Interest in sciences such as biology, chemistry, psychology, and mathematics
• Certification from the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT level or higher)

Qualifications

• Enlistment in the Army National Guard
• High school diploma or GED, and at least 17 years old
• Ability to pass a physical exam and meet legal standards
• Citizenship requirements
