About the role

Reporting to the Senior Advisor, Healthcare, the Sales Director drives revenue growth, market penetration, and marketing leadership within the region and targeted segments, focusing on all US-based customers. This position requires travel readiness for industry events and client meetings, along with strong strategic sales and marketing leadership. The Sales Director ensures operational alignment with US and EU Service Delivery, Solutions Management, and Localization Engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a regional sales strategy aligned with TDL’s global objectives.
  • Drive acquisition and retention of clients in the target segments.
  • Identify and maximize up-selling and cross-selling opportunities within the US customer base.
  • Monitor market trends, competitive activity, and customer needs to refine the regional sales strategy.
  • Use a consultative sales approach to identify, present, negotiate, and close new business opportunities.
  • Generate leads and opportunities through proactive networking, prospecting, and relationship building.
  • Drive and manage the full sales process from prospecting through to closure and handover to Service Delivery.
  • Build and maintain strong, trusted relationships with existing and prospective clients.
  • Collaborate with Customer Success Managers in establishing strong client retention programs, such as Quarterly Business Reviews.
  • Conduct Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) with key clients together with Customer Success Managers to ensure alignment, satisfaction, and growth opportunities.
  • Attend and represent TDL at industry events relevant to medical devices and MadCap ecosystems.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to clients, managing expectations and aligning solutions with their business objectives.
  • Lead contract negotiations and framework agreements for US clients, ensuring compliance with TDL standards and documentation.
  • Partner with global Sales leadership to leverage best practices and shared opportunities.
  • Ensure operational alignment with US Service Delivery, Solutions Management, and Localization Engineering teams for seamless execution.
  • Partner with the Service Delivery team, especially Customer Success Managers, to ensure smooth client onboarding, handover, and ongoing support.
  • Monitor and analyze pipeline health, conversion rates, and revenue performance using relevant tools.
  • Report regularly to global leadership on KPIs and strategic progress (monthly performance review, pipeline analysis, and quarterly strategic review of market positioning and growth initiatives).

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Minimum five years’ experience in the localization and translation industry with solid knowledge of the localization sector and healthcare focus.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience managing enterprise-level client accounts and relationships.
  • Demonstrated successful experience in development and implementation of complex enterprise account strategies (strongly preferred).
  • Proven track record in sales leadership within the language services or related industry.
  • Highly proficient in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, and OneDrive tools).
  • Deep understanding of CAT tools.
