Healthcare Regulatory Associate (Junior-Level)
Responsibilities
- Conducting legal research and preparing regulatory opinion letters, memoranda, client advisories, and other written work product
- Advising on corporate practice of medicine, fee-splitting, management services arrangements, professional entity structures, and multi-state entity formation
- Assisting with state-specific healthcare licensing, enrollment, ownership, supervision, and operational compliance issues
- Researching healthcare professionals’ scope of practice, supervision requirements, and related state law restrictions
- Supporting compliance analysis involving the Stark Law, physician self-referral restrictions, the Anti-Kickback Statute, related safe harbors, the False Claims Act, and civil enforcement exposure
- Aiding with Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement issues, including coverage, coding, billing, enrollment, and payment requirements
- Assisting with telehealth compliance projects, including state licensure, prescribing, consent, patient relationship, and reimbursement requirements
- Supporting FDA compliance matters involving healthcare, life sciences, digital health, and wellness products and services
- Reviewing and analyzing healthcare contracts, policies, business models, and operational practices for regulatory compliance issues
- Collaborating with attorneys and clients to identify regulatory risks and develop compliance strategies
- Supporting healthcare transactions by assisting with entity structuring, licensing analysis, and related compliance matters
Qualifications
- 2-4 years in healthcare regulatory compliance or transactions
- Significant experience representing employers in employment litigation matters
- Juris Doctorate degree
- Must be licensed in California
- Experience researching and analyzing federal and state healthcare laws and regulations
- Familiarity with one or more of the following areas is preferred: corporate practice of medicine, healthcare licensing, Stark Law, Anti-Kickback Statute, False Claims Act, Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement, telehealth compliance, scope of practice, FDA compliance, and multi-state healthcare operations
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Microsoft Word
- Strong legal research and technical writing skills, including proficiency with legal research tools (WestLaw)
- Excellent analytical, writing, research, oral communication, and client-service skills
- Strong interpersonal and client-service interaction skills
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Well-organized, detail-oriented, self-motivated, and capable of working independently and collaboratively
- Proven track record of performance and professional excellence

This position is full-time. The position is located in Los Angeles, CA and is exempt from overtime. The schedule is 8-hour shifts, Monday to Friday.
The salary range for this position is $170,000+; salary is commensurate with expertise & previous experience; discretionary bonuses are available.
