About the Role
Tennessee Oncology is seeking a Healthcare Recruiter to focus on attracting and efficiently hiring qualified and competent experienced registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, and advanced practice nurses. This role involves developing and implementing a comprehensive nursing recruitment plan, including a nurse residency program, in alignment with the Human Resources strategic plan. The Nurse Recruiter will integrate HR expertise with contemporary nursing practices to design and manage recruitment initiatives that meet current and future staffing needs.
Responsibilities
- Work with the SVP of Human Resources and the Team Leader of Recruitment to develop operational initiatives aligned with the HR Strategic Plan.
- Attend meetings as a subject matter expert on nurse recruitment-related issues.
- Initiate, lead, plan, and execute all nurse recruitment events, including the residency program.
- Research and compile data for reports to the SVP of Human Resources as needed.
- Monitor nursing staffing needs on a weekly basis, gather recruitment market information, and utilize data in planning efforts.
- Present data during weekly recruitment meetings.
- Compose and coordinate placement of local, regional, and/or national recruitment advertising, when approved.
- Develop and implement a proactive recruitment strategy to address nurse recruitment needs, including targeted strategies for diversity.
- Coordinate with hiring managers to ensure applicant screening and evaluation align with position requirements and organizational values.
- Screen and interview candidates, recommending best-qualified candidates to hiring managers.
- Collaborate with the HR Compensation Manager to identify position changes and update position descriptions and organization charts.
- Maintain effective communication with hiring managers and applicants throughout the recruitment process.
- Provide advice, training, and feedback to hiring managers on interviewing techniques and candidate evaluation.
- Ensure selection decisions comply with employment laws and policies.
- Collaborate with the Compensation Manager and department leaders to determine appropriate pay rates for job offers.
- Ensure offers of employment are complete, accurate, and include all necessary paperwork and pre-employment requirements.
- Oversee and coordinate activities of the HR Specialist – Onboarding to ensure optimal service for applicants.
- Design and evaluate strategies to maximize communication with Nursing and Human Resources staff.
- Evaluate nursing publications and research media markets for cost-effective recruitment campaigns.
- Identify and attend state, regional, or national nursing recruitment events, such as career fairs and open interviewing days.
- Incorporate diversity needs into marketing campaigns and develop targeted recruitment strategies.
- Develop and implement a proactive recruitment strategy for new nursing graduates to fulfill residency program hiring needs.
- Partner with Nursing Education to provide training, scheduling, and implementation of education strategies for the residency program.
Requirements
- Baccalaureate degree in Nursing or related field required; Master’s degree in Nursing or related field preferred.
- Licensed Registered Nurse with a minimum of 5 years of practice required.
- Minimum of three years of healthcare recruitment experience or three years in an administrative or program management role in Nursing.
- Clinic-based Oncology experience preferred.
