About the role
The Healthcare Facilities Regional Manager oversees the day-to-day operations of assigned VITAS buildings, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, and maintaining service level agreements and key performance indicators.
Responsibilities
- Oversee facility operations including maintenance, repairs, cleaning, security systems, and utilities management.
- Communicate solutions to operational and field leadership.
- Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Approve purchase orders and payment of invoices, proactively addressing excessive costs.
- Audit and maintain service level agreements and key performance indicators.
- Ensure compliance with building safety, environmental standards, and accessibility regulations.
- Manage routine inspections and corrective/preventative maintenance on assigned building systems and equipment.
- Develop and manage the facility department budget, including vendor contracts and maintenance costs.
- Lead and manage a team of maintenance technicians, performing employee performance reviews, and creating staff development plans.
- Directly supervise maintenance technicians and other employees in the Facilities Department.
- Initiate and oversee small to medium-sized construction and renovation projects, ensuring adherence to project goals, timelines, and budgets.
- Manage vendor relationships and select third-party vendors for contracted work.
- Utilize facility management systems and building automation systems to monitor building systems, track maintenance activities, and optimize energy usage.
- Manage risk mitigation and emergency management initiatives.
- Perform related duties as required.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3-5 years healthcare Facilities Management experience.
- Previous experience as a Facilities Manager overseeing multiple locations preferred.
- Associates degree in a relevant field, such as facilities management, engineering, or business management, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Microsoft Office Suite proficiency, including advanced features.
- Practical experience with project management software.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations.
- Strong interpersonal skills within all levels of the organization.
- Valid Driver’s License and Auto Insurance required.
Qualifications
- Experience managing staff in a positive and productive manner.
- Ability to communicate tactfully, verbally, and in writing with department heads, managers, coworkers, and vendors.
- Knowledge of HIPAA and ability to treat PHI according to VITAS policies and procedures.
