About the role
The Business Office Coordinator supports the efficient operation of the business office, ensuring seamless coordination of administrative tasks, financial processes, and customer service functions. Key responsibilities include managing accounts receivable and payable processes, performing eligibility checks, and assisting with Medicaid applications.
Responsibilities
- Ensures compliance with financial regulations and internal policies.
- Manages resident set-up, applicable charges, payers, and payer changes in the billing system.
- Verifies insurance benefits and provides coverage details to residents.
- Drives the Medicaid application process for applicable residents.
- Processes payments and performs daily bank deposits.
- Enters ancillary charges and submits vendor invoices to Accounts Payable.
- Manages the Resident Trust Account (RTA) and petty cash, and assists in monthly reconciliation.
- Attends community meetings and trainings, and participates in reimbursement meetings, care conferences, and IDT meetings.
- Completes month-end close activities, reconciles expenses to revenue, and prepares for year-end activities.
- Manages the selection, training, and performance of assigned staff, and coaches staff participating in a succession development plan.
- Promotes the Benedictine Mission and Core Values by integrating them into daily activities.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- One (1) or more years of healthcare accounts receivable and/or accounts payable experience.
- Computer experience and use of general office equipment.
Qualifications
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
- Ability to work independently with organizational skills.
- Analytical, deductive reasoning, and problem-solving abilities.
Skills
- Proficiency in billing systems, accounting software, and online payer portals.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
