About the role
The Healthcare Coordinator (HC) at San Pedro Smiles Dentistry partners with supported Dentists to help gain a financial commitment from the patient to start the best course of treatment with urgency.
Responsibilities
- Understand and utilize financial options to support case acceptance
- Educate patients on treatment choices
- Overcome common patient objections
- Proactively keep Dentist’s schedules productive
- Support each patient in a consultative and educational manner
- Create Patients for Life (PFL)
- Model company culture, values, standards, and best operational practices
- Achieve proficiency in PDS system and tools
- Execute the HC Handoff in partnership with each clinician
- Be a Subject Matter Expert on all available financial options
- Overcome common patient objections to starting treatment
- Avoid unnecessary delays in treatment by obtaining necessary insurance pre-authorizations
- Ensure the office exemplifies the Comprehensive Care Model
- Participate in daily morning huddles, monthly team meetings, and other meetings as required
- Demonstrate stewardship of the PDS Brand
- Become knowledgeable on the Mouth Body Connection
- Maintain an appropriate professional appearance and demeanor in accordance with company policies
- Ensure compliance with Company policies, as well as State, Federal, and other regulatory bodies
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Prior course work or on-the-job training in the fields of dentistry, insurance, or business preferred
- Knowledge of office practices, technology applications, and patient insurances
- Results-oriented (energetic self-starter; sets realistic goals; meets commitments; persistent, prioritizes daily to achieve results)
- Patient advocate (flexible and adaptive; empathetic; passionate; ethical)

- Ability to multi-task effectively without compromising the quality of the work
