About the role
The Healthcare Administrator manages the operational infrastructure behind healthcare programs, including provider workflows, patient-support processes, payer coordination, and compliance controls. The role connects clinical, operations, product, and engineering teams to ensure services are delivered accurately and consistently within US healthcare requirements. You will own administrative systems and reporting across EHR, CRM, ticketing, and analytics tools; translate regulatory requirements into operating procedures; and use performance data to improve access, quality, turnaround times, and cost. This role matters because reliable healthcare operations directly affect patient experience, provider productivity, and audit readiness.
Responsibilities
- Own day-to-day healthcare administration workflows across scheduling, referrals, eligibility verification, authorizations, claims follow-up, and patient communications
- Configure and improve workflows across EHR, CRM, ticketing, and workforce-management platforms, documenting requirements and maintaining standard operating procedures
- Monitor operational KPIs including authorization turnaround time, appointment completion, denial rates, service-level adherence, and patient issue resolution
- Coordinate with clinical operations, product, engineering, revenue cycle, and compliance teams to resolve process gaps and deliver cross-functional initiatives
- Maintain HIPAA, SOC 2, payer, and applicable state and federal compliance controls; support audits, risk reviews, and corrective-action plans
- Build recurring reports and dashboards using Excel, SQL, Looker, Tableau, or similar analytics tools to surface trends, risks, and improvement opportunities
- Manage healthcare vendors and external partners, including performance reviews, issue escalation, documentation, and service-level tracking
Requirements
- 3-6 years of experience in healthcare administration, healthcare operations, provider operations, revenue cycle, care delivery, or a related environment
- Working knowledge of US healthcare workflows, including HIPAA, eligibility and benefits, prior authorization, claims, referrals, and payer-provider operations
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, health informatics, business, public health, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
Skills
- Hands-on experience with healthcare technology such as EHR, CRM, case-management, ticketing, or claims platforms; familiarity with HL7 or FHIR is helpful
- Strong analytical and process-design skills, with experience building reports, tracking KPIs, and improving operational performance using Excel, SQL, or BI tools
- Demonstrated ability to manage cross-functional projects, write clear SOPs, and coordinate stakeholders across clinical, technical, and administrative teams
- Bonus: Experience with value-based care, healthcare startups, payer operations, Lean or Six Sigma, HIPAA compliance programs, or workflow automation
