As a leading vendor management firm since 2007, Optimatum brings best practices in vendor management to HR Supply Chain operations, including Employer-Sponsored Healthcare, Retirement, HR Systems, and M&A/Transitional Services. We design and execute harmonization strategies, providing active management and oversight to help clients create and capture value through seamless, efficient solutions.

About the role

The Health & Welfare Consultant supports the Client Services team in analytics, streamlining processes, and ensuring compliance across clients’ HR/Benefit plans, programs, systems, and functions. You’ll collaborate to define and execute innovative strategies that create measurable value, leveraging deep expertise in HR and employer-sponsored Health & Welfare and Retirement benefit programs, vendors, operations, and systems.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze HR and Employee Benefits related data, including employer-sponsored health & welfare and retirement plans, self-insured plan costs, stop-loss coverage, and plan documents
  • Identify optimization, cost mitigation, compliance, and process enhancement opportunities
  • Present findings and actionable insights to internal and external stakeholders
  • Provide project management support to ensure timely and effective execution of client deliverables

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher required
  • 7+ years relevant professional experience with demonstrated familiarity in HR/Employee Benefits Plans, Programs, and Vendors (knowledge of both Employer-Sponsored Healthcare and Retirement programs)
  • Experience gained in an advisory/consulting environment or prior external consulting experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
  • Advanced data analysis capabilities
  • Strong client service orientation and ability to respond to all communications effectively and in a timely manner
  • Proven ability to complete project deliverables, manage multiple priorities, and workstreams simultaneously
  • Exceptional organizational and planning skills to ensure timely work product delivery
  • Highly detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy
  • Demonstrated integrity in all functions of work
  • Pursuit of CEBS designation desired

Pay

The expected annual salary ranges from $100,000 to $145,000. Offers are based on relevant skills, training, experience, education, geographic location, performance, travel requirements, revenue-based metrics, contractual agreements, and certifications. Successful candidates may also be eligible for a discretionary bonus.

Work location: New York City office.
