About the role

NHS Ayrshire and Arran is seeking a Health Visitor to join their Children’s Health Service in south Ayrshire. Various posts are available.

Responsibilities

You will provide a high-quality, culturally sensitive, safe, and person-centred health visiting service in the community. You will work collaboratively with partner agencies and manage a caseload to ensure the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the universal health visiting pathway and additional programs of care.

Requirements

Essential qualifications include a registered nurse with the NMC and a post-registration qualification in Health Visiting/Public Health Nursing with evidence of continuing professional development. You must have a UK driving license.

Skills

The successful candidate should have a flexible, strengths-based approach, be innovative, and quality-oriented with the ability to respond positively to change. They should also have the capability to provide specialized advice, assess child development, and implement psycho-social interventions.

Qualifications

A post-registration qualification in Health Visiting/Public Health Nursing is essential. Candidates must be currently registered with the NMC and have completed or be studying towards a post-registration qualification.

  • Complex health visiting interventions including child protection, domestic abuse, addictions, peri-natal illness, and children affected by disability and/or life-limiting illnesses

Pay

The pay for this role is based on a full-time contract and will be pro-rated for part-time positions.

Schedule

The working week for NHS Agenda for Change staff in Scotland will be reduced from 37 to 36 hours starting from 1 April 2026 without loss of earnings.
