About the role

The Health Unit Assistant (HUA) provides essential administrative and clerical support to ensure smooth operations within a healthcare unit. This position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. The HUA serves as a central point of contact for staff, patients, families, and other departments, assisting with administrative functions, patient flow, and unit activities.

Responsibilities

• Utilize electronic medical record systems and basic computer applications
• Multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Exceptional customer service skills
• Ability to acquire and maintain skills necessary for the role
• Proficiency with electronic medical record systems and basic computer applications
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Must be available the first week of employment for HUC orientations (Monday - Friday, 8 AM - 4:30 PM)

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Previous clerical, customer service, or other experience in a healthcare setting

Pay

Compensation starts at $18.32 per hour, based on experience.
