About the role
The State of Connecticut, Connecticut Technical Education and Career System (CTECS) is recruiting two (2) THS Health Technology Instructor positions at J.M. Wright Technical School in Stamford, CT. Applicants must have at least 8 years of experience in a related field (6 years with an associates degree or higher) and a valid RN license or a temporary permit in Connecticut or a Multistate or Compact Registered Nurse license.
Responsibilities
- Teach all aspects of the Health Technology curriculum, including theoretical and hands-on training.
- Plan and deliver information, and assess student competency using various methods, including educational technology.
- Manage classroom and laboratory settings, ensuring safety and compliance with health regulations.
- Collaborate with various committees and departments to develop and implement educational programs.
- Obtain and retain a Connecticut CDL with proper endorsements to transport students.
- Participate in professional development and ongoing training to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.
Requirements
- At least 8 years of experience in a related field (6 years with an associates degree or higher).
- A valid RN license or a temporary permit in Connecticut or a Multistate or Compact Registered Nurse license.
- Ability to obtain CT 109 Health Occupations - Vocational Technical Schools endorsement within the first year of employment.
- Completion of BLS instructor certification through the American Heart Association.
- Completion of American Red Cross CPR instructor certification.
- Completion of 3 CCSU courses: VTE 113, VTE 116, and Special Education.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field.
- Experience in a long-term care or rehabilitation facility.
- Experience teaching, preparing lesson plans, differentiated learning, and assessing student.
- Completion of the following courses at Central Connecticut State University (CCSU): VTE 113, VTE 116, and Special Education.
Skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Basic computer skills to access online curriculum/resources and present lessons to students.

Schedule
