Internal-only vacancy for current employees of the Stanislaus County Office of Education. Applications from external candidates will not be considered.

About the role

Under the direction of a program administrator, perform non-clinical tasks to implement health policies and procedures while ensuring health compliance with Head Start Program Performance Standards. Provide health education information to teachers, parents, and children.

Responsibilities

• Provide health education information to teachers, parents, and children.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• High school graduation or equivalent.
• Two years of experience in health services, Head Start, State Preschool, or a related environment such as a medical office or school nurse office.
• Valid Emergency Medical Services Authority (EMSA) approved CPR and First Aid Certification covering adult, child, and infant (pediatric) from one of the following:
  • American Safety and Health Institute (ASHI), or
  • American Heart Association (AHA), or
  • American Red Cross (ARI), or
  • Pediatric CPR and First Aid offered at accredited colleges and universities.
• Front and back of the CPR/First Aid card with expiration date must be submitted with the application.
• Valid California driver’s license.
• Must provide own transportation and proof of insurance.
• Must comply with Senate Bill 792 immunization requirements for influenza, pertussis, and measles.
• Mandated Reporter Training required within the first six weeks of employment.

Additional Requirements for Selected Applicant

• DOJ Clearance/FBI/CACI.
• Tuberculosis Skin Test clearance.
• Pre-Employment Physical/Drug Screen clearance.

Skills

Bilingual skills in Spanish, Arabic, or Farsi are preferred.

Pay

Pay range: $21.95 - $26.88 per hour. Initial salary placement is restricted to a maximum of Step 3 ($24.22 per hour) for external applicants. This position follows Range 7 of the CFS CSEA Classified Regular Salary Schedule.

Schedule

• 200 workdays, 213 paid days per year.
• 5 days per week, 8 hours per day (7:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.).

Benefits

A benefit entitlement for health, dental, and vision coverage is available for positions that are at least 4 hours per day. The amount of the entitlement is based on the number of hours worked per day.
