About the role

Under the direction of a program administrator, perform the necessary, non-clinical tasks to implement health policies and procedures while ensuring health compliance with Head Start Program Performance Standards; and, provide health education information to teachers, parents, and children.

Requirements / Qualifications

  • Must be 18 Years of Age
  • Any combination equivalent to: graduation from high school and two years of experience in health services, Head Start, State Preschool, or a related environment such as medical office or school nurse office
  • The following documents must be submitted with your application:
    • Valid Emergency Medical Services Authority (EMSA) approved CPR and First Aid Certification covering adult, child, and infant (pediatric)
    • American Safety and Health Institute (ASHI), American Heart Association (AHA), American Red Cross (ARC), or Pediatric CPR and First Aid offered at accredited colleges and universities
    • Front & back of the card with expiration date
  • The following documents are not required at the time of application but will be required of the selected applicant prior to employment:
    • DOJ Clearance/FBI/CACI, Tuberculosis Skin Test clearance, Pre-Employment Physical/Drug Screen clearance
    • Valid California driver's license
    • Mandated Reporter Training is required within the first six weeks of employment

Benefits

A Benefit Entitlement for health, dental and vision coverage is available for positions that are at least 4 hours per day. The amount of the entitlement is based on the number of hours worked per day.

Schedule

Length of Work Year: 200 workdays, 212 paid days/year, 5 days/week, 8 hours/day (7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.).

Pay

Pay Range: $21.75 - $26.64 Per Hour
